Parking Lot d-Elegance: Boogie Mornings

It has definitely been way too long between Emporium soirees so it was with unbridled eagerness, not to mention a lot of head splitting grins that we ran about setting things up to welcome back the 6th edition of our Parking Lot d'Elegance!

Curated by The Motoring Club who finessed a rather groovy approach to this latest event, That ‘70s Show. A decade of decadence that gave rise to some incredible machines, a fast-paced parade of automobiles and motorbikes from the seventies.

Things moved a little slow, to begin with, the ominous gloomy weather could have been a harbinger but as the first car pulled into the lot, a 1974 Lamborghini Espada, we knew we needn’t have worried.

Families and fellow enthusiasts filled the lot. People stood around talking and drinking coffee as kids and dogs ran about the obstacle course of cars. A gorgeous 1974 Citroen DS was engorged with onlookers, and so it should be, dreamy.

The morning peeled over into afternoon and smiles and stories were shared between drivers. A delicious 1971 Nissan Skyline GT-R that graced us with its presence, left no one in doubt that this shindig had been an excellent idea. All and sundry had come for what they needed, a good hit of mechanical, giving a beautiful ending to another successful day at the Emporium.

We'll see you at the next one!
