"The speed ring of the Monza National Autodrome, also known as "the Monza Bowl" for its shape with the outer edges higher than the inner ones, it's an oval speedway with two semicircular curves with a 320 meters radius and two 857 meters long parallel straight. In this part of the circuit the "Gran Premio di Italia" took place from 1922 to 1955; It's worldwide known because it has been one of the first high speed ring specially built for car races".
It's a world famous speed temple, where it's hard if not impossible to access ... but, the Deus Swank Rally has managed to let 60 wild racers put their knobbed rubber on its sacred asphalt. They were the riders of the second epic stop of our "friendly championship" held during "the Reunion" event. "Mamma mia ! " has been the most common comment at the end of each lap - self timed lap , as usual.
Those two days will be hard to forget, with saturday dedicated to free practice, and the most part of the sunday for the race, speeding in the mud next to the "Serraglio", the "Roggia" variant and under and on the "sopraelevata", the infamous parabolic curve.
The track was kind of idyllic, nearly 5 km long, funny and challenging at the same time both for proven pilots of the kind of Alesandro Botturi ( Paris-Dakar Yamaha Official Team) and other relatively unknown folks that have joined the race.

Now, the Deus Swank Rally moves to Varano De' Melegari, next saturday, for the Wildays event, to see if the 45 km off road path that will move the circus to Montescirone track, and the three special challenges will shake the ranking for the september Gran Fiinale. After a bit of mystery, the final stop has been revealed in Monza, it will be on September the 17th ( but the date was already known), along with the new "knobbed" edition of "Bread and Salam", the "motorized fest" organized by our friend Roby Ungaro, in a new spectacular location ... but this is still a military secret ...stay tuned!

"L’anello alta velocità dell'Autodromo Nazionale di Monza, conosciuto anche come “il catino di Monza” a causa della sua forma a bordi esterni in rilievo rispetto a quelli interni, è un circuito ovale composto da due curve semicircolari con raggio di 320 metri unite da due rettilinei paralleli di 857 metri ciascuno.
In questa parte del circuito si è disputato il Gran premio d'Italia dal 1922 al 1955; è conosciuto in tutto il mondo perché è stato uno dei primi anelli di alta velocità costruiti appositamente per permettere lo svolgimento di corse automobilistiche."
Un Tempio della velocità mondiale, dove è difficile se non impossibile anche solo avvicinarsi ... ma il Deus Swank Rally è riuscito a farci saltare addirittura sopra i 60 scatenati partecipanti della seconda epocale tappa durante la manifestazione The Reunion! "Mamma mia! che emozione!" è stato il commento più ricorrente a fine giro che come da tradizione Swank è stato autocronometrato.
Una due giorni che tutti i partecipanti ricorderanno a lungo , con il sabato dedicato alle prove libere e domenica, per gran parte della giornata a sfrecciare nel parco accanto al Serraglio, alla variante della Roggia, sotto e in particolare sopra l'emozionante Soprelevata.
Un fettucciato bellissimo di quasi 5 km, che ha fatto divertire e impegnare anche manici del livello si Alessandro Botturi (pilota ufficiale Dakar Yamaha), e i soliti agguerriti pilotoni che iniziano a guardare la classifica con interesse ...

Questo Sabato il Deus Swank Rally si muove all'autodromo di Varano De' Melegari per il Wildays, per vedere se i 45km di fuoristrada che ci porteranno a Monte Scirone e le 3 prove speciali previste, muoveranno la classifica generale in vista della prova finale di settembre, che dopo tanto mistero è stata svelata durante la premiazione finale di domenica a Monza.
Quindi, la quarta e ultima prova di questa prima edizione del Deus Swank Rally sarà il 17 settembre (e questo lo avevamo già detto) durante la nuova versione “tassellata” del Bread and Salam del nostro amico Roby Ungaro. Sarà sempre in zona Salice Terme, in una nuova, super location dal sapore militare… ma qui vogliamo tenervi ancora sulle spine e non vi sveliamo oltre. Stay tuned!
